Benjamin Alexander Huseby

This afternoon i was flipping through the pages of some old Vogue's when i suddenly saw this great fashion editorial in UK Vogue March 2006. It is called 'Heavenly Creatures' and is shot by Benjamin Alexander Huseby (Oslo, Norway 1977).
I think this man is a genius, so i searched on the www for his agency. He's with Untitled UK. On one of the first pages of this Vogue, he tells a little bit about himself: he's a self-taught fashion and art photographer and is obsessed with chilli sauce and food shopping. He once won a school disco marathon by dancing 34,5 hours! Hmm...quite interesting, don't you think? Nice to know is that the man himself is almost as good looking as his photographs (thanks to his Norwegian and Pakistani parents). Not that i know him personally (hehe), but there's a small picture of him in Vogue 03-06. So if you still have this issue, get it out of the dust!
Strangely enough, Untitles says in his biography he did study Fine Art in London. So is he really self-taught or doesn't Fine Art has anything to do with photography?
Either way, his work is great. Magazines like Another Magazine, I-D, Dazed and Confused and Vogue agree with me, so he contributes regularly to these magazines.
Oh, let's not forget about his blog!

I really love this whole 'happy-friends-picknicky-summer-thing'.

Bad Behavior

I love this collection of the Danish label Bad Behavior.
The lines and shapes of the clothes are great and i especially like that the clothes are not very tight and seem very comfortable.
I seem to be getting more and more into simplicity. No problem with that.
There's only one thing i don't understand: what's up with the shoes and bags? Such a pity! Imagine these clothes with great (flat) shoes (and bags), it would make them look even better!

Sweetness

Sweet puppets from Sweet William, a children shop in Williamsburg NY.
Via the very nice blog Slow Progress.
The lovely puppets are made by Jess Brown, who also has a blog. Don't you just love the dresses they're wearing?
Sometimes the world seems small. Or is it?

Nostalgia

Do you remember that time?
The time you were hugged and kissed nearly 24/7.
The time you didn't know your own name.
The time you didn't know what this world looks like.
The time you were always center of attention.
The time everybody thought you were sweet and beautiful.
The time your father was still around.

Oh, that time.

Inspiration&Importance

Just some beautiful things that inspire me.

I wanted to tell you i just read a great story on one of my favourite blogs 'Soir de Fete'. It's about our world, about our consuming, about fashion and the way we look at all this. It is truly how i feel about it and therefor i am happy she wrote it down so nice and clearly. Thank you for that, Mandy.
My thoughts go out to her at this moment.

Lula issue 6

Today i finally bought the latest issue of Lula. Love it, every single page of it!
Leith Clark does an amazing job as editor in chief, but also as a stylist of a few of the fashion shoots.
Unfortunately her own website says coming soon....hopefully it will, because i bet it's very nice.

So everyone...run to the store and buy Lula, it is defenitely worth it.

One of the stylists of the magazine is Elisa Nalin, her portfolio's are amazing, but unfortunately i can't post any pictures of it. You should defenitely check out her work at Artlist Paris.

The work of photographer Skye Parrott is really amazing. The photographs of her work for Lula are not on her website yet, but below some of her other great work.
